  Data Quality Workshop - Part 2 g2m
Following our first discussion on FAIR data quality measures in December’21 OGC Member meeting we invite you to another edition of the public and open Data Quality Workshop. This edition’s topic continues to be ‘FAIR data quality measures’, and the motivation for this topic, among others, comes from the ongoing ISO standards development project, in which many OGC members participate: ISO/AWI 19157-3 Geographic information – Data quality – Part 3: Data quality measure register’. ISO 19157-3 is a joint ISO/TC211 and OGC project and our ultimate aim is to set-up a machine-actionable register of data quality measures. In this workshop we would like to explore which data quality measures are relevant for the current ‘hot’ geospatial domains, such as Smart Cities, Digital Twins, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Training Datasets, Analysis-Ready Data or Planetary Science applications. The timing of this discussion is just perfect as the Data Quality Measures Register is under construction and we hope to identify collection of new relevant data quality measures to add to its pilot content. We will also demonstrate the current version of the register and illustrate how it can be used. We will also explain the governance and curation of the register. We are convinced that a machine-actionable quality measures register will enable FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) quality measures. This ultimately contributes to the FAIRness of the quality information related to spatial datasets (the topic of our inaugural edition of the OGC Data Quality Workshop), and, thereby, to the overall aim of making location FAIR, which is the very mission of the OGC. The OGC Data Quality Domain Working Group and the group of international domain experts invite participation in the Workshop to be held virtually on 25 and 26 September 2023 as part of the 127th OGC Member Meeting. This 2 x 1.5h long community workshop is open for members and non-members of OGC alike and the registration is free. The results will contribute to efforts towards establishing a standard compliant and trusted data quality measures register. The workshop will be presented in two parts: starting with setting the scene followed by the presentation of the data quality measures register on OGC’s RAINBOW and explaining register’s governance. We will then continue with a series of presentation on data quality measures from the ‘hot geospatial domains’. We conclude the workshop with exploring options to move forward.

Highlights:
Part II: Data quality measures for the community (90 min)
We will introduce motivation and the scope for ISO/OGC Data quality measures register, existing list of data quality measures and gaps therein. We then proceed with presentations defining requirements for new measures from various domains not yet addressed in the current list.
